Dramaworkz :: Success Stories

Below are some comments, references or testimonials provided about Dramaworkz:

It has been our pleasure to work with Evelyn over the past two years as she has provided amazing Professional Development for our staff, and learning experiences for our students.

Working in Process Drama she has empowered our teachers to feel confident in working in drama with our students, all of whom have special educational needs, so that everyone is fully involved in the learning experiences.

Evelyn’s ability to think beyond the square to provide relevant experiences for all students is amazing and a credit to her adaptability and determination to include everyone. While working with us, this included, non verbal students, students in wheelchairs and those with severe autistic behaviours.

To see the huge smiles on the faces of all students during and following a session was testament to the success of the work Evelyn did.

Evelyn has worked extensively on the development of the Otago Settlers Museum LEOTC immigration programme 'Across the ocean Waves'. Through her careful and skilled guidance we were able to take students through a process drama called 'Drama on the High Seas' which made students really feel they had been on an ocean voyage to Dunedin. I strongly recommend Evelyn as a teacher educator who can make a difference.

Evelyn has a warm, approachable manner and quickly engages teachers and students. Evelyn has come into our school and worked with Years 7 to 10 and many of her ideas and suggestions for using process drama have been taken up and are part of our programme.

I would recommend Evelyn as a tutor and a colleague. She is familiar with a wide range of resources and she offers encouragement and support enabling teachers to extend their delivery in the classroom.

Evelyn came into our school and inspired us! Her enthusiasm in working with the children and us as a staff was evident right from day one. We all enjoyed the opportunity (staff and children alike!) to increase our drama skills. The final product was original production that belonged entirely to the children.

Over the last 16 years I have worked as a classroom teacher, and in my role of principal, of two schools with Evelyn Mann, a highly skilled teacher of Drama.  Based on the valuable professional learning I was exposed to during this time, on the professional growth I experienced and the growth in skills, knowledge and confidence I witnessed in the staff at the four different schools I worked in, I am very happy to recommend Evelyn as an outstanding facilitator.

Evelyn is a highly motivated, conscientious, extremely hard working person, who totally commits herself to whatever she takes on, and this was always very evident in her role as a facilitator of learning and as an entertainer and story teller.

She planned and facilitated workshops for teachers, taught classes from Year1-6 each week in Classroom Release Time and performed in role as a story reader and storyteller.  The latter were highlights of the year for the students, parents and staff.  Children quickly warm to Evelyn’s genuine interest in them and eagerly awaited her return to their class.

Teachers always enthused about Evelyn’s relaxed and non threatening delivery style, and her ability to make them feel comfortable with wherever they were at on the skill development continuum.

Evelyn is the ultimate team player, leading from the front and empowering others to raise their level of achievement.  She always takes time to ensure that those teachers who are less confident and competent have sufficient time and support to master whatever they were working on.  Evelyn is totally non judgemental, taking teachers and students from wherever they are at, setting high expectations for all and supporting the learner, adults and students, to reach their goals. Her passion and enthusiasm are quite contagious.

Evelyn is an innovative thinker, a confident, articulate speaker and is always willing to share new ideas and her skills with colleagues.

I recommend her most highly as a facilitator, as a teacher and as a totally committed professional.
